Pups need home

We recd this mail:

(begin email)

hello friends,
when it poured today evening, these pups didnt have any car to go under. they were just running around trying to find a place to sit warmly and not get drenched. i felt so helpless at that time, i just cudnt to anything for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

right now also, they are sleeping in front of my house, all huddled up to keep warm. why is it that we sit in warm homes, when they have to go thro all this? i m wondering now, if i made a mistake in keeping them alive.

i have made a poster to put up in petshops. see if you can pass it on to fellow animal lovers and help in getting them a home.

charu

We, at adoptstrays and catsofbangalore, DO NOT believe that charu made a mistake by keeping the pups alive. These puppies are going to make someone very happy.

I hope my words come true.

Whats in store for him

Freedom? A loving home? Or being on the other end of the chain till the day he dies?
This young pup, full of life and playfullness has never known the joy of running around, walks, toys and pats. He does not know what it is to sniff around, sleep in his owners lap...ah well what am I talking. This fellow does not even have shelter from Bangalore rains and the scorching sun, no access to water, is forced to relieve himself where he sleeps. Simply because he is tied on the side of the road every single minute. Day in and day out.
His "owner" feels he is taking care of him. He aint fancy enough to keep him inside the house or compound. Even leaving him free is not an option. As he might "attack"people on the street if let loose.
Do you think this is ownership? Do you think he deserves to be unchained? Do you think he needs a home? Do you think you can adopt him?

Simon needs you

Name: Simon
Age: Approx 8 months
Breed: Mixed (A strong hint of Boxer cross)
Details: Vaccinated, neutered, extremely friendly
The lady who has been taking care of him adds: A few months ago, he was found wandering the streets in the vicinity of my office. Someone had put a very tight collar around his neck. It was so tight that he could hardly swallow. He had bleeding sores all around his neck and smelt awful. After a lot of trouble and patience he was captured for treatment. Simon was fortunately picked up for the CUPA shelter, where the vets did a great job. Simon was treated with care for his neck wounds, in time neutered and immunized--and returned here.
He now recognizes me as someone who visited him the day after he was picked up and gave him biscuits. The result is that he follows me around like a shadow when I come to the office or leave for home. I don't want him following me home because there is a pack of dogs in that area which might tear him to pieces!
Simon is peaceable and--as is obvious--very loyal. He must've belonged to someone here who couldn't be bothered to have him treated and who probably maltreated him. Every collar I've put around him has been stolen. One day, I tied strings of white cotton thread around his neck—I was sure nobody would want that. Even that was taken….This simply means that Simon either has a 'home' of sorts or else that he allows anyone who speaks to him nicely to approach him and take away his collar.... If you or anyone you know might want to adopt Simon, please do get back to me. Yes, we are inundated with such cases, but I suppose we have to keep asking. Let me add that Simon is someone special (yes, I know, every mother says that!). Just recently, while crossing the road, he blundered onto the path of a (fortunately) slow-moving car and actually got ‘touched’ by the fender. He lay down quickly, and the under-carriage of the car passed over him without actually touching him….I feel that Simon has a special blessing upon his spirit and that he has been saved from disaster more than once. He does deserve a good and kind owner. Please help us find one if you can.
Also, a white mixed breed female pup and a labrador pup (has lost vision in one eye) need homes. Will post the pictures and details soon.
Angel (three legged lab), Meera (Mudhol), and these two boys are still looking for homes. Please help them find a home.

Rest in Peace Jackie

Jackie lost his life to the deadly Parvo. Though he was vaccinated at the time of adoption, it was too late for him. George is distraught and I really don't know what to say that would console him. I saw him struggle for one week, day and night to save Jackie. Not to forget how much would have the little Jackie suffered.

If Jakie's mother was vaccinated he would have been alive. This brings us back to square one. Vaccination and revaccination against Canine Distemper, Rabies and Parvo, etc. for pets and homeless dogs is a must. Please people vaccinate and revaccinate your pets and please help your local animal shelter in vaccinating the dogs living in your area or at the shelter. Trust me it does not even cost more than a movie ticket per dog. But these diseases cost prcecious lives. Pick up that phone and do it now.
