I got this mail a few days ago. Basanti is a fighter and is healthy now despite an initial diagnosis of paralysis. She has done what she could and now we have to help her find a home. She has a limp, but is still gorgeous beyond words.
It is heartbreaking from housepets are abandoned or get lost in the concrete jungle amidst traffic without any survival skills.
I am pasting the email from Nutan. Please check the photographs from the picasa link.
Dear ADOPT-A-STRAY blog owners,
We are looking for a home for an abandaoned pet. We will really appreciate it if you could post the following entry on your blog.
We would like to introduce Basanti, whom we met about one and a half months back. She is a golden retriever cross. We think she was a pet who was abandoned on a road close to where we live. She completely lacked outdoor survival skills, as a result of which she had a severe accident, and one of her hind legs was badly damaged. When we found her she was in a really bad shape and was in extreme pain. The intial diagnosis of a doctor was that she had a paralysis and wouldnt ever be able to walk or even support herself on her legs. We later managed to transfer her to a vet hospital and she is being treated ever since. Her condition has improved remarkably and she even manages to walk (though with a limp) on her own now. She is very friendly and comfortable with people around her. Unfortunately, we are a group of students who live in a hostel and are not allowed to keep dogs inside the campus. We can't keep her in the hospital indefinitely and all the shelters we have looked at were in pretty bad condition for a partly handicap and a pet dog to survive. Being brought up as a pet, she cannot survive on the road and really needs a home. We are ready to transfer her any where in India by flight. Our email id is oranjok@gmail.com
Here are some of her photos:

Thanks.
Nutan.
