I am posting this from the comment section.
From Tanya Roberts:
Hi to all you dog lovers,
I just found an abandoned dog near my place and have been looking after him for the last coupla days. The dog's adorable and loves attention and love, and all that is worng with him is that he has a slight deformity in his hind legs. This is in Bangalore, and I a now going to give him to karuna, as I travel a lot, live in an official guest house and so really cannot keep him. If any of you are in Blore, please PLEASE adopt him from Karuna.
What I want to know is how people can so cruel as to abandon a 6-month old dog on the road! Just cos' he limps a bit!!
For the rest of you here, I would like to say that there are NUMEROUS abandoned and stray dogs who are loving and just as much pleasure as a great dane or a boxer or any other such animal would be. These dogs are at places like CUPA and Karuna and the best thing that could happen to them is for a loving owner to adopt them. They are not all adults and it IS possible to get a young dog. Do adopt them if you can give them a loving home. Its worth it for you and the dog!

Bumped post from comments section...
Shamala left some details in the comments section of another post about pups found near EGL
(begin)
Hey guys,
Here's something for those who'd like to adopt --
I found a couple of mongrel pups in the busy roads of EGL [embassy golf links] campus, dint have the heart to leave them shuddering with every passing vehicle.
If any of you are upto adopting them please let me know, else pass it on to your friends/ family who might be interested.
1) The pups are healthy, they finish up a bowl of milk in no time.
2) Since they have each other for company, i guess its the reason they howl and squeal much lesser than pups which are sinlge. As twosome feel far more secure.
3) They are clean, flea and tick free - absolutely.
Some problems could be -
1) Once separated they may make some noise but only for a a few days. So, you should not have cranky/pesky neighbours.
Please adopt them - If you think you can take care of them, though they dont need too much of attention, they do need lots of space which is safe and clean.
They have been de-wormed and they are not ready for vaccination yet, maybe this weekend.
And a few details below -
Sex - Yeo[male], the one sitting tall. Iggil [female]
Age - 7 weeks
Doctor - Dr.Sampath Kumar, Lakeside Veterinary Hospital.
Diet - Veg, ragi, bread and milk
Thanks
Shamala
