Special Needs
Sujaya says: " The last picture of the Pug comes under the "Special Needs Category". His hind is paralised. CUPA is trying to fix up wheels for him so he can walk in the future. "

A week or so ago, I heard from vmurthy
who left a comment in my (now invisible)blog asking about the pug's whereabouts. After checking with Sushruta, I let him know that he is still in CUPA, learning to use the cart like contraption with wheels instead of his hind legs and the many mysteries of the art of spreading fertiliser.

Now, the pug, christened Nemo, is now part of the Murthy household. Photos below!! An invite has been issued and we can hear regular updates!

Also, it seems that the hing leg wheels were not fixed by CUPA which means that the pug is not yet trained to walk by itself. (edited to add that CUPA did try to fit Nemo with wheels, but we are trying to find something else for him that is lightweight and spiffy-custom-made for him...these things are literally tailor made and the better they fit, it's more natural for the animal...now..where is that magic engineer we are looking for...) Sushruta, do you have any idea where to find the cart wheels for the hind legs? Werent you going to find one for Yasmine's Kajal(R.I.P)..maybe the same people can fit Nemo?

Last, but not least..I dont have Sujaya's email address. Can someone please forward this to her? I am sure she'll be thrilled to bits!

Here you go. The latest addition is Nemo, a 9 month old Pug with plenty of life with a possibly paralyzed hind

Rani is our old Alsatian, recently operated upon for cancer. She's doing well. She thinks she's Nemo's mom.

And Jumble is, of course, the 5 year old well behaved Black Lab.

Will some engineer please help me to design some back wheel contraption for Nemo so that he can propel himself forward?

plays frm 6 in the morning to till 10 in the nite...

Got him vaccinated yesterday...may be bcoz of that he was dull today morning...but by afternoon he was all fine..

He weighs 5 Kgs now...doc said he has calcium deficiency.. so got tablets and a syrup...

Isnt he a darling..

URGENT ADOPTION CASE

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE????!! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME????
Look at this gorgeous dog!! She was abandoned at Vasant Nagar and a kind girl called Shilpa, who is visiting Bangalore and is on vacation, put up this post on orkut! She found the dog near her house, scared, very thin (possible starvation) and longing to be loved!
Shilpa was kind enough to take the pup in and is looking after it.... but she will leave Bangalore in a couple of weeks and is hoping to place the pup before she leaves.... someone...please please please adopt!!!!

Some happy endings....and much happier beginnings

Look at this cute, little thing which George and his wife adopted from a shelter. Beware, he just might steal your heart. This all white pup has a brown face and has two large circular back spots. Will ask George to capture that too :) Meanwhile they have named him Jackie. Jackie is busy throwing puppy tantrums! They are settling down in their new role as parents. Wish them all the luck people.

Remember Gubbi? Yes she is going home with Yasmine. On last count she was taking care of scores of cats and dogs. Mind you she has a day job and probably touches the life of many more needy animals. Lady, you just amaze me.

Another mutt puppy went home this weekend to a loving family. Thanks Subbu. Hope you will soon send us pictures and stories.

Special Needs: Three legged Angel

Age: Approx 3+ yrs
Breed: Labrador
Sex: Male
Nature: Friendly and full of energy and enthusiasm
Details: He was abandoned by the owners with a badly injured foreleg. The foreleg had to be amputated.
Watching him run around, one would believe that he is unaware of the missing foot.

Status: Chimpi has been moved to safer neighbourhood. Thanks to Ravi, she has not only found a new playmate, an adorable pooch named Blackie but also hope. Ravi and Chimpi have bonded real thick!
